Mr Joseph Varikesri, National Secretary of BJP minority Cell, today campaigned for the BJP candidate Mr Satya Pal Jain. Mr Varikesari said BJP and Mr Jain have done a lot for minorities in Chandigarh in last few years. Among such activities is massive financial support for maintenance of cemeteries in sector 25 and other places. They have also been helpful in getting land for madarsas and churches.

Maulana Mohammad Kasim, President of Chandigarh state BJP minority cell said BJP is committed to welfare of minorities. Haji Mumtaj Ahmad General Secretary of the cell said if Mr Satya Pal Jan wins the election and BJP/NDA form government at the centre then land for a ‘Muslim house’ and masjids will be secured within a year. Party will help in getting land for a church in Ramdarbar and an Imambara for the Shia community. He said the Party is also committed to ensure job opportunities to educated youth belonging to minorities.

Treasurer of minority cell and member state BJP executive Haji Muhammad Khurshid appealed to all members of Muslim community and other minorities to come together to support Mr Jain and ensure his victory.
