Dhawan lashes out at Administration’s indifferent attitude
Congress, BJP and RJD leaders join BSP
Former Union Minister and BSP’s candidate from Chandigarh Mr. Harmohan Dhawan today condemned the indifferent attitude of the Chandigarh administration for playing into the hands of Congress. He alleged that Chandigarh administration and election commission is working under the influence of Congress and blamed the administration for acquiring double standards.
While addressing the media at the press conference in Shehanshah Restaurant sector 17, Mr. Dhawan said I had to come out and talk because of the step motherly treatment of the Chandigarh administration towards them. Elaborating the sequence of events that unfolded he said Mr Hazi Ali Chairman Minority Cell (BSP) had applied for a permission on 11th of April to hold a Muslim sammelan at the ground adjoining Jama Masjid sector 20, on 24 th of April. The permission for the same was granted on 15th of April, in which he was a special invitee.
He further said that when he read in some newspapers that the permission for the above said sammelan was cancelled, and I was shocked as till now I had not received any formal information from the Chandigarh Administration. Although I received a letter today from the administration stating that the above mentioned sammelan has been cancelled, which is quite shocking as there is just one day left for the sammelan to be held. He said that it is evident from the above mentioned incident that Congress and Chandigarh administration are hand in glove and they are trying to disrupt the ever increasing base of the BSP. Its worth mentioning that at the same venue almost a month ago Congress had organized a public meeting in which Mr. Kidwai literally made communal remarks on which he was also served a notice by the Election Commission. Whereas this function was just an effort to spread out the message of universal brotherhood and humanity.
Similarly an application was moved on 11th of April for booking of the Circus ground to hold a rally in which Ms Mayawati was scheduled to address the permission for the same was granted on 17 th of April on depositing the requisite amount of 16554/- via demand draft, on 22nd of April we were advised by the administration that we should rather change the venue to the rally ground which is something we can laugh at.
He further said that the single window system is an instrument to collect money as there is no co-ordination among the various wings of the administration, we were told that there is no need for getting permission for corner meetings, although we have to inform the concerned Police Station, Assistant Returning Officer and Police Control room. Yesterday when I was on my way to address one corner meeting at village Buttrela, I received a call from the Assistant commissioner (MC) that you can’t address the corner meeting as you haven’t seeked permission for it. It all shows that these officials are working on the behest of Mr Bansal.
When Mr Bansal addresses a Brahmin or Muslim sammelan it is right whereas if Harmohan Dhawan does the same it is wrong and I want tell mr Bansal that two wrong don’t make one right and he should better prepare for his ouster.
Mr. Navjit Singh Brar, senior vice president RJD Chandigarh, Roopinder Singh Congress and brother in law of Mr. Devinder Singh Babla, Maninder Singh Mandy General secretary Youth Congress, Inderdeep Singh, Ravi Matoo. Surinder Singh all BJP and Shiv Murthy Yadav president Akhil Bhartiya Yadav samaj announced to join BSP today.
Speaking on the occasion Mr Brar said that he was feeling suffocated in the party as there was no discipline and every body acts as a boss in RJD and that’s is why he has left the party. All the new joinees assured of their full support to Mr Dhawan.
Later in the evening Mr. Dhawan addressed corner meetings at sector 27 and sector 28.
