Mr Joseph Varikesri, National Secretary of BJP minority Cell, today campaigned for the BJP candidate Mr Satya Pal Jain. Mr Varikesari said BJP and Mr Jain have done a lot for minorities in Chandigarh in last few years. Statement of Dr. Subramanian Swamy on 6th May 2009 at Chandigarh.
1. The Janata Party is in a national alliance with BJP, and I have already campaigned for BJP Lok Sabha candidates in Tamil Nadu, Delhi . I am here in Chandigarh to campaign for Satya Pal Jain.
2. The Janata Party supports the BJP because the two parties share a common ideology and political ancestry. Also, the JP agrees with the BJP manifesto’s correct identification of the three main challenges facing the country today: viz., Economic Development, National Security, and Good Governance.

1. There can be no development if the security of the nation is not ensured. The security cannot be ensured if the armed forces are not strong and motivated.
